How to organize a successful party / event?

I'm throwing a picnic / / Artshow event at the park, what should I do to have a good turnout?

Get as much publicity as possible. Try the local television and radio stations and newspapers. With this being an art show you may be able to obtain certain types of free advertising if local broadcasters do sort of "events" community ads. If you have any area colleges with art programs, you want to go talk to some art teachers and encourage them to offer a sort of extra credit to students if they attend. I hope these ideas help!
